Un-wearable landscapes
Year: 2013
Techniques: plasma cutting, patina, dry printing
Materials: Copper, Fabric, Hahnemühle Paper
The project investigates the concept of imaginative mapping. . The green of the oxides refers to the physical maps. The map made does not exist in reality. Wearing a map is impossible unless you want to transfer it into your own interior. To transfer an experience within one's own consciousness, to close oneself to the influences of the external world, to acquire greater intensity of spiritual life.
The work was realized in 2014 on the occasion of the invitation to participate in the exhibition “Reflections of matter”, of the Philobiblon gallery.
The exhibition was dedicated to contemporary Italian and international engraving and represents the multiple potentialities of the technical tools that are the basis and essence of the engraved image – choice of matrices and final supports, printing processes, different combination of more techniques. Engraving art that does not remain confined to the two-dimensional margins of the paper support and that will be further developed to give life to works of an installation, sculptural and video nature.
