Möbius open stripes
Year: 2013
Techniques: modeling
Materials: plexiglass, steel
Möbius Open Stripes is the first prototype, conceived as a gift for a special woman, of a project that hybridizes the concepts and theorization of a two-dimensional society taken from the wonderful fantasy-scientific novel by Edwin Abbott "Flatlandia" in the use of the needle that in the text represents the woman, whose tip guarantees pervasiveness, within the social structure theorized by the author, and the concept of non-orientable surface theorized by the mathematician August Ferdinand Möbius with his famous infinite ribbon.
The double twist and the opening of the plexiglas represent, with the due poetic license, the opportunity to go beyond the infinite finite of the mathematician.
