The Cistercian
Year: 2010
Techniques: TIG welding, patina
Materials: iron
The Cistercian is an iron sculpture with a height of 25 cm, made by cutting and assembling the parts. Inspired by an encounter with a Cistercian monk, which took place at the Certosa di Pavia, the sculpture blends personal memories and aesthetic research, family stories and material exploration. The metallic surface has been treated to obtain a rust-toned material finish, reworking and deconstructing the shape of the Cistercian dress. The artwork is an unique piece.
