"éclats de médailles"

Happy to take part, in the company of other artists, in the new exhibition at the @galeriesophieetc , an exhibition project created in the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games .
It is a reflection that directs the focus on the medal in the broadest sense of the term .
I used the material as a signifier in its semantic sense, working with Gasbeton, a building material, with characteristics of lightness and adaptability but also of extreme fragility, it looks like a foam with small holes on the surface.
I thought it was a material that recalls the characteristics of the human soul, in particular the soul of the loser who adapts more easily to all the conditions and challenges of life. Over time and if mistreated, gasbeton can deteriorate and stop working.
So I imagined comparing the box insert to a fragment of the human soul of the loser, I closed it in a box so that it could have a space of protection from the shocks of life.
Without losers, there could be no winners.
My work aims to propose to the juries of every type of visual competition, to focus more carefully on the proposals, before decreeing an exclusion and consequently proclaiming a loser.
